Boeing gets reprieve. Pentagon gets mulligan.

Pentagon puts air tanker contract up for re-bid.

Normally I’m not too thrilled about a company that bitches and moans getting what it wants, but Boeing was justified here. Pentagonal buffoonery is what caused Airbus to win this contract, not to mention McCain’s intrigues. What exactly the “significant errors” were, I’m not sure. If anyone wants to link me to further information on that, please go ahead.

Frankly, I think the loser of this contract should start working on something more interesting, like the Sonic Cruiser. Remember that? Who gives a fuck about having 400 airborne tankers? We don’t need to be blowing anymore shit up than we already are.
