The world is pretty chilly when you think about it.

Think of it this way. 0 degrees Kelvin is as cold as it can ever get. It means an absolute lack of thermal energy, which is what makes heat. By comparison, the Sun is 5800 degrees Kelvin at its surface and 15.7 MILLION degrees at its core. Nuclear bombs may reach even higher. When the Big Bang happened, scientists believe the temperature was around 100 BILLION degrees Kelvin.

So 0 to 100,000,000,000. That’s our working range of possible temperatures. Consider that  we’d consider it a freakishly hot day if the temperature reached 325 K, and that our most advanced metals melt around 2500 K. That’s at the lower end of the scale, folks.
